Which additive

• Soda ash (sodium carbonate): strong, raises pH noticeably. Best when pH runs low.
• Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate): half the strength, nearly pH neutral. Best when pH is already 8.3+.
• Two part / all in one (B-Ionic, All-For-Reef, Reef Fusion): balanced alkalinity and calcium for ongoing maintenance.

Safe correction rules

• Max 1.4 dKH per day, dosed into high flow.
• Watch pH: keep any single-day rise under 0.2.
• Test before every additional day of a split correction.
